Student Degree Audit

Progress toward degree completion — required courses, credits, GPA & graduation eligibility

DRAFT requirement model. Program requirements below are derived from the CampusOS course catalog and are pending confirmation by the UMF Registrar. Credit totals, required vs. elective designations, and the graduation-GPA minimum must be ratified against the official degree-requirement sheet before this audit is used for official certification.
About this Degree Audit — purpose & policy

What it is. A degree audit compares a student's completed, in-progress, and remaining coursework against the published graduation requirements of their program, and reports whether the student is on track to earn the degree.

Why UMF performs degree audits

  • Academic integrity of the credential — confirms every graduate has satisfied all required courses, the capstone, the minimum credit total, and the minimum cumulative GPA before a degree is conferred.
  • MSCHE accreditation — demonstrates a systematic, documented process ensuring students meet stated program requirements (Standards on educational effectiveness and assessment).
  • Student advising & retention — gives advisors and students a clear, current view of what remains, so registration and time-to-degree stay on track.
  • Federal compliance — works alongside Satisfactory Academic Progress (34 CFR §668.34) monitoring for Title IV eligibility.

How completion is determined

  • Completed — a passing grade (A+ through D, or Pass) is on record for the required course.
  • In Progress — the course is currently enrolled/ungraded (IP).
  • Attempted, not passed — Fail / Withdraw / Retake on record; the requirement is not yet satisfied.
  • Remaining — no attempt on record.
  • Graduation eligible — all required core + electives + capstone completed, credits earned ≥ program total, and cumulative GPA ≥ the graduation minimum.

This tool is an advising and review aid built on a draft requirement model; official degree certification is issued by the Registrar against the ratified requirement sheet.
